2. Long-Term Residence Permit:

If you have lived in Turkey for at least eight uninterrupted years under a residence permit issued by the Turkish authorities, you can apply for the Turkish long-term residence permit, which has indefinite validity. However, please note that if you have resided in Turkey during this period as a refugee, conditional refugee, secondary protection status holder, humanitarian residence permit holder, or temporary protection status holder, you are not eligible to apply.

3. Family Residence Permit: A family residence permit can be granted to the foreign spouse of a Turkish national, their minor children, and their dependent foreign child. The sponsor must demonstrate sufficient income to support those applying for the residence permit to obtain it. Family residence permit can be issued for a maximum of three years at a time

4. Student Residence Permit: A student residence permit is available for international students who are enrolled in a recognized educational institution in Turkey. How Do I Get a Residence Permit?

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Initiate Your Application: To start the process, visit the e-residence portal and select the “I am Applying for a Residence Permit for the First Time” button. This will direct you to the application form, which must be filled out completely and accurately.
2. Book Your Appointment: Once you have completed the application form, the next step is to schedule an appointment with the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. This can also be done via the e-residence system.
3. Prepare Your Documents: After securing your appointment, print out and sign the completed application form. You will need to deliver this form, along with the necessary documents outlined in the “Documents Required to Obtain a Residence Permit” section, to the Provincial Directorate during your appointment.
4. Temporary Residence: The printed and signed application form grants you the legal right to reside in Turkey until your appointment date.
5. Await Application Results: The results of your application will be announced within 90 days, and if approved, your residence permit will be sent to you via PTT Cargo.
